Paper SRTE Frequently Asked Questions

For answers to questions not listed here, please e-mail us at srte@psu.edu

When are SRTEs processed?
SRTEs are due at the Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence no later than three business weeks following the last day of classes for a given semester. Please check the SRTE Calendar for specific dates.

What is the minimum number of SRTE forms I can order?
The minimum order for any given course is ten forms. SRTE forms are good for three years from the date printed, so you should be able to use all ten forms within the next three years.

What is the minimum number of SRTE forms I can submit and still get a report?
The Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence produces reports for classes where five or more SRTEs are returned.
For groups under five, we suggest keeping them at the department level as evidence that the professor taught the course and evaluate the course with a different instrument for that semester.

We do not report on courses with less than 5 sheets for several reasons.
  • With a limited number of responses the valitity of the evaluation is questionable.
  • It would be easy for an instructor to identify an individual student's responses with such a limited number of responses
